Just thought I'd share my bedroom sub. My wife said "hey let's go to best buy a purchase a subwoofer!" I said "honey, honey, honey, slow down! I'm Mr. DIY, I don't buy manufactured products. If you want something I'll build it." She was on board and next was to find out what she wanted.
She said "I want something tiny, that gets loud. I want something like the sunfire or that definitive technology sub you showed me." I said "No problem!!!"
So I went to work
Now as you can guess, my wife was freaking out! I had to calm her down quite a bit. "Baby shhhhh baby, it's okay. I still have to do a bit of sanding, it'll get smaller when I when I sand. Think about it."
So by this time she had calmed and gave her trust to me knew that Mr.DIY knew what he was doing!
After I placed it in she was all smiles! (That's what she said) she was glad to see all that sanding had made it smaller.
So onto the specs.
4-12" TC Sounds Epics
14.5 cu ft net tuned to 17hz
Peavey IPR2 7500 wired to 2 ohms per channel (way too much power)
Velodyne sms-1 for eq, subsonic filter, ect.
WAYYYYYY overkill for a master bedroom (11'x15'x8')
For reference that is a 65" plasma
Oh and I don't plan on keeping it like that. Once summer hits I'll finish sanding and paint it.
