I will see how much jbrowns friend wants to spray paint finish. Otherwise I will veneer. Either way it will be dark color and main speaker on top will be medium-light color.

Very very nice chaluga and your daughter its right ja ja!!

How about Alpine SWR1522 or MTX 9515 44 on the micro cube??

This forum is a pain in the ass! One day you see something that you like and have everything ready for the next step but when you come back, you see something else even better....

The alpine specs are good. Don't know much about that driver. Same with the mtx, although its pricey. Would have to model them to be sure. Since I'm getting 4 cost is a factor for me.

Yeah, and 4 drivers like those ( performance on micro cubes ) for that price is unbeatable!

i've yet to see a frequency sweep of the alpine swr's. kind of hard to believe. i'm not sure if the additional excursion of either of those drivers helps a whole lot given the ported design and the modest tuning relative to the Dayton. maybe if you can blast a ton of power through them. maybe.

Donny, I have two UMIK-1 mics; you can borrow one if you want and run some sweeps with REW once you have all four subs up and running. I'm sure there's lots of guys that would love to see some measurements on this new micro marty.

Yeah that would be good. I will take some initial measurements with SPL meter and then have you over to do rew!

Yes four micro-cubes. Even if its the same output that I currently have that's just fine. I want smaller sub's to be stands for my new mains. Just two cluttered in my living room with big enclosure and big mains coming.

I also want to try nearfield to see if its more tactile, and I like the idea of subs all around me. Also I will come out 300 bucks ahead which pays for almost one of my new mains.

What about using the Sundown SA-15 drivers?

Can be had for a decent price http://www.amazon.com/SA-15-D4-Sundo.../dp/B004ILQK3I

And Josh Ricci seemed to think it was a pretty good driver.
http://www.data-bass.com/data?page=driver&id=44

Their are also available in 2ohm, so you could run two off of a single inuke 3000.

The Dayton is 300 bucks cheaper for 4 and modeled really well . I'm sure some others will use alternate drivers.

True but with the amount of xmax the Sundown has it could have a pretty good size output advantage over the Daytona. The only difference is you wouldn't be up $300 you'd break even, wouldn't it be worth it if it was a an upgrade over the Daytona for only $300?

Maybe LTD can model the Sundown driver in the micro marty for anyone else that might be interested. Especially with it looking like its not to hard to buy.

I'd be curious to see the model with these other drivers. I don't need more SPL though. When I run it loud now there is a lot of rattles in my old home. Don't have that sweet bunker like u

Doesn't the inuke 3000 have roughly 2200watts RMS in bridged mode? from the little reading that I did most guys using the Alpine were powering it with between 1000-1200RMS.

I wish my house was a bunker, when I unleash all four subs at my place the neighbours house rattles!...lol

alpine swr1542 - 3.5 cubic feet tuned to 23hz 1100 watts, no filters. excursion 17mm at 32hz.

the swr is supposed to have a pretty linear bl curve (relatively flat and symmetrical). the 15 didn't get 'updated' along with the smaller models in the last round. maybe it was thought that it was good enough. inductance doesn't seem out of control. as always, multiples can bring up the otherwise mediocre sensitivity. not much not to like if you can handle the way it looks. :-0

I think the SWR-1522D is a 2ohm+2ohm so if I'm not mistaken you could wire them each as a 2ohm load and run two off of a single inuke 3000 in bridged mode. I'm sure if I'm wrong John or someone else will say something.

That Alpine driver looks pretty good for $200ea.

So it looks like a single SWR-1522D has a 2dB advantage at 20hz over the Daytona driver. Not bad for $50 more.
