Sibuna's - Sealed SI24 Build -

That title is somewhat of a lie as I'm gonna have some help with this but it is my driver. Box will be 46" x 23.75" x 30" (LxDxH) which will conveniently sit right behind my couch
I got the D2 driver and will be running it off of 1 channel of a FP14 Clone @ 4 Ohms

@Gorilla83 and I have been going back and forth trying to finalize the design for on this for a month or so and now its done, i posted the original idea in my other build thread, it got changed a little bit. but mostly the same

This WILL get built the first week of august.

not a small shipping box

Those are 12" floor tiles

iota gonna get finished with a stain of some kind, I did th eTV stand and other speakers with minwax oil based stains. all Red Oak and really liked how those came out. might do a different color. but it will prob be that route. Still going over some other things in my head, not 100% positive

Yes, this is very cool indeed, ... hell the entire idea, all of it. And the box design and wood-working, very nice work thus far gentlemen.

Employing and optimizing this monster, and blending it into your system/room, near-field, should prove to be an interesting study. Yeah, this will be cool, and something I find of particular interest.

I'm curious about your EQ'ing/alignment plans, tools, etc. Aside from the typical small-sealed signal shaping, near-field placement often incurs some unique signal shaping challenges wrt both objective observations, and subjective preferences. I've shared this previously, but 10-to-15 years ago, I experimented a lot with a pair of near-field Velodynes. I found it fascinating balancing the tactile immediacy, with full extension and acoustic gain effects of the room.

It seems as if there's a lot of exploration and discussion of near-field effects as of late, rightfully so.

This is going to be a good one, exciting stuff. Thanks for sharing and best of luck. Just bad-ass.

(I wonder how much reactionary box movement you'll be up against, ... anyone recall statements wrt Beast's enclosure and such motion effects?)

EQing is gonna start with the omnimic in combo with its software/ REW and a MiniDSP, because thats what i currently have. with regards to beasts box this one should be quite a bit more sturdy due to the triple baffle and the design of the bracing.

Sure, like lettering or a logo or something?

Holy bracing batman!

With the sub being so heavy and deep, do you guys think it would be a benefit to have double baffle's to screw into (i.e.-"quad baffle")?
Every end of brace supports the front baffle, and like Sibuna said the top and side screws for the driver will attach directly into the bracing, so plenty of wood to bite into to support that beast. :)

rillia and i discussed that we were actually just gonna do a ring inside the innder baffle for screw grab but the braces get too close, actually some of the mounting screws will be in the vert supports the others ill just glue a piece of srap behind
