Tux,

Build them asap and post lots of pics on this thread then send them to Donny after he posts pics of when he's done putting up his Marty rails on that scary looking balcony!

No rail just adds a little adventure . Cmon fatshaft. If you had to choose between a railing and 3 1099 which would you choose ?

Actually the railing is going up in about a month.

Still have a little filling to do but almost there. Will need to trim some foam and glue down some parts.

The ultratouch demin stuff is the same price/size. Do you recommend the foam over the cotton insulation for both ported and sealed cabinets?

I would go with the denim. It has properties close to fiberglass. It's a better absorber. Whether it would make a noticeable difference, I don't know.

I have half of the veneer done. Will be done in a couple of hours.

I went with birch veneer. Got a really nice piece with beautiful figure for 42$.

Tux,

What happens to the FR if all the ports are blocked?

Very nce work, Donny. The veneer looks great. Inspiring. I want to try 3M Di Noc carbon fiber wrap on some speakers, hopefully 1099s.

None. Most speakers can be ported out the back or bottom if given room. I think Erich puts all his ports in front so people don't have to cut them out. Some like to see ports. Myself I don't .

It probably wouldn't be a problem but you'd probably want to make the cabinet deeper so that the overall internal volume stays the same.
