Is an out-of-round speaker a problem?

Opened up my SI-18 today and the surround is not glued on very symmetrically. I measured the surround with a ruler and it is about 1/4 inch wider in one direction. I don't care about the looks since it will be down firing but will it effect performance? Can the cone have linear travel like this? Pics attached. Notice how on the bad section the surround looks squared off.

Thanks, that's reassuring. It looks like it was probably glued down in the correct spot but slid in a little. You can see where the glue is smeared on the basket.
