Eminence Beta 8A vs Denovo DW816

I guess this question is for ErichH but if anyone else has a opinion please give me your 2cents worth. Thanks.
I see on the DIY website that the Fusion 8 Alchemy MTM is not available at this time and that Erich will be using the Denovo DW816 woofer in place of the Eminence Beta 8A when it is. Does anyone know if there is any diffrence between these 2 woofers and if the Denovo DW816 will be used in the Fusion 8 Alchemy in the future so the voice is the same in both speakers?
This is for Erich: When will the Fusion 8 Alachemy MTM be available again and when will the Fusion 8 Alchemy be available with the same woofer as the MTM?

Thanking everyone in advance,
Bill

The new woofer is pretty much the same as the original Beta-8A, it's a custom variant Erich had manufactured by eminence with an impedance better suited for MTM usage. Voicing will be the same as the original.

Thanks mtg90, your response helped. Now I hope ErichH will see the message and answer my other questions about availability.

Like MTG90 mentioned, they're identical woofers, except ohms. Single woofer model uses the 8 ohm woofer to get an 8 ohm speaker. Double woofer model uses the 16 ohm woofer wired in parallel to also get an 8 ohm speaker. That way things are easy to drive with standard receivers.

With two 8's per speaker how would the mtm/tower compare to the tempest? I'm looking at the tower or tempest as my front main left and right.

Thanks Erich, do you have an idea when the MTMs will be available?

Thanks Bill

I have both and the Tempest is much higher quality sound and better in every single way in my opinion.

The vertical MTM's are different from the past model.

The 12" Tempest will certainly have more midbass than the 8" models. It's just an all around bigger and stronger speaker.
