Yup. Got tired of the forum drama. Probably has other things going on in his life. Popped in a while ago so he might be checking in from time to time. I miss his postings.
well, if you want to get the fire started, just say something like sealed subs with significant rolloff are distortion machines because when the bottom end is boosted by 8-10db to give a flat in room response, the harmonics are amplified by the driver's native response curve, so they will be 8-10db higher than what is measured at data-bass. ported with their broad, flat, native response don't have this problem, just the opposite. with big ported cabs rising room response can be eq'd down in order to lower distortion harmonics relative to 2pi space measurements. this point is frequently made about horns with a significant rolloff while the simple fact that is that sealed subs, particularly in very small cabs, suffer from the same problem.

You could also provide a little evidence or suggestion that a multitude of sealed subs with a high pass about 14hz is basically just as exciting but with a ton more sound quality and less distortion and way more headroom and that the single digit cult is brainwashed into believing in a heaven that doesn't really exist there.
Not, LTD or others do you remember a poster who used to be a professional automotive painter or something like that, I believe. He made an Iron Man suit replica and did some other movie props. He did a curved subwoofer build with Kerfed MDF I believe. He had some amazing finishes and I wondered what ever happen to him. I dont remember his name. But I figure Not, Scott, LTD or others might know whom I am talking about. He answered a lot of people's question on spray finishes and setups also.
most of the pics got blown out over time, but in post 100 i had downloaded and reuploaded to avs in order to make sure at least a couple didn't get blown out. one of the nicest finishes of all time.
and one that was still floating on the internet, but blownout in the thread. it is some sort of candy red/black paint/tint/coat combo. I'm sure it is in the thread.
Candy paint.....thats right. Just amazing finish. Thanks for saving some of his photos. LTD.
