HDC3-18 $329 36mm 4.5kW any good?

Someone should box model this, could be a good cheaper alternative to the UXL-18 and HST-18 for somebody who wants a good driver without breaking the bank.

I don't understand how it is wired. It reads like the wires aren't attached to the spider. So are they just freely hanging in the air? Seems like they would slap off the back of the cone?

Is tuning to high on this. Seems like more for cars. Nice price for power it can handle .

This should help:

Looks like it thumps good on 2-3kW.
Looks like a good 2inches of excursion or so...

It's always a red flag when a subwoofer company doesn't even bother to give the inductance. And another one when they give a common set of parameters for multiple voicecoil options. And a third when they don't mention shorting rings.

The frame's pretty, but I'd pass.

SoundQubed is a sister company to Digital Designs.

Both companies are very well respected in the get-loud car audio world. However like others have said, they never post full specs, which is enough to keep me away.

If you are to look at car audio subs for HT use, for $325 you can get a FI Q 15", if I were to pick between that and the SQ sub, I know which I'd choose and its not the SQ.
