Is there something that would be a good match?

You could email Curt and ask him. I emailed him about another design and he was very nice and had a quick response. If you do, please share his response.

Probably the Statement Monitors. That's what Curt uses. Have you finished your build? Any pics or thoughts you can share concerning the sound for 2 ch. or HT (not sure what your build was geared toward). I was told these sound similar or better than Monitor Audio PL300.. Wonder if its true.

I was thinking that, but then I wondered if he was considering Atmos or if Curt had any idea's for Atmos.

The last time I talked to him.. No, he has his monitor mounted high on the rear ceiling facing forward and down toward the MLP. We discussed Statement II and Finalists. He said the room was small compared to other HT, not sure adding Atmos would make much of a difference. Atmos is more about EQ that Timbre matching, just make sure you use a speaker with a large dispersion pattern and you should be fine.
If you wanted to stick with a ribbon you could build a pair of "speedsters" via Meniscus for about $300 not sure how good they would be for Atmos. Guess it depends if your mounting in the ceiling facing down or high on your walls facing toward MLP.

This would not be for ATMOS speakers. Just the rear surrounds. I'm thinking either the monitors or the finalists. I sent curt an email over the weekend.

He recommended both to me, I probably would pick the Statement Monitors just to keep everything matching. How do they sound?

Check out the Lineup R4 surrounds on htguide.com

They were the only reasonable sized surrounds that I could find when I was thinking about building the Statements

Not sure if you'd know but could the Vifa driver replace the TB driver in the R4?

I would ask the designer on that thread. The idea behind the design was to get the mid and highs matched to the mains, but maybe someone else had tried with success.
