tweeter replacement help needed in So Cal

The tweeter in my Swan 6.1 speaker went out. I found a replacement online that I could buy but replacing the tweeter is something I could not do. Is there anyone here I could pay to do it for me? I'm in the Murrieta/Temecula area and could come to you.
Thanks,
Steve

Just in case you're not able to work anything out with a forum member....

I have used OC speaker repair in the past. They are FANTASTIC. Here' a link to their yelp page, in case it helps you out. I'm sure they could take care of the tweeter install for you.

Another option is a car audio place,

They install various aftermarket car audio components so it should not be a problem fixing your speaker. Give one a call in your area and they should be able to take care of the problem. Good luck!

Thanks for your reply. The problem is the tweeter is a top mounted dome type on the speaker with a plastic case type thing around it. I can't figure out how to even get to the old tweeter off.

I would venture a guess that the mount is bolted onto the cabinet from the inside so you'd need to remove the top woofer to get to the hardware.

I removed the top woofer and I the only thing on top of the speaker that I can see is the two lead wires going to the tweeter.

OK, does that screen come off the front of the tweeter?

It does but it's not supposed to as I knocked it and broke it when trying to get the whole tweeter off.

Everything is supposed to come off. God didn't build that tweeter housing as one piece. Did you by any chance call the manufacturer and ask them?

I do see your dilemma. That speaker is way too nice to be jamming on it with a prybar.

Hivi built that top mount tweeter as a one piece assembly. And it looks like PE doesn't carry it anymore, so if you can snag one, you should.

Hivi's actual headquarters is in Arcadia, sort of just up 215 from you. It might be worth giving them a call and seeing if they do repairs.

If that speaker mount was built as one piece, any chance is was stuck on with some double sided tape or something?

Madisound sells that tweeter.

You should be able ask Jon Lane how to remove it.
