many use an inuke6000DSP, 1 sub per channel- good high ROI for HT if budgetarily challenged,

there are other amps, some much quieter

good for about( almost) way too f'n much, my limiters set to about 1350, gains cranked all the way . .
my minidsp 2x4HD has a channel output for each of my 4 main subs . . good control . .

Wondering if I could use my crest prolite 7.5 from my 2 ghorns, put that on a pair of subs and buy a pair of cc4ks for my ghorns. Hmm.

I'm using the I nuke 6000dsp with the limiter at 1200 watts per channel and the output it phenomenal. I'm sure you could use the crest pro-lite 7.5 but these don't need that much power to get extreme spl from them.

Lol this week has been nuts but I will have about 12 hrs to work on them this weekend so I'm pretty sure I'll at least have them built and functional and hopefully start the finishing on them

Congratulation on your build Jeremy, and thanks for all the information and inspiration.

I have been considering to buy Cap 2400, but not anymore.

I can only build one for myself, due to space & neighbours constraints, which amp and drive would you guys recommend?

I'm using the I nuke 6000dsp and parts express um 18-22. I still have to take measurements. The box was actually designed for the uxl 18 which I believe is like 440 us dollars. The prices on the site are in Canadian. The um 18 is 300 with the recent price bump the combo of the 2 sounds absoulutly phenomenal. You won't be disappointed with amp driver wood your looking at right around 1000 dollars and you'll be blown away with the performance to price

Between the two, does UXL 18 provide 50% premium for the performance? It's just UM 18 is always on back order.

LTD02 had posted a graph with the UXL and UM18, showing the UXL being better but only by a few db.

Yeah just as trimlock said it's only a few db so I wouldn't say a 50 % premium. The price is only like 140 dollar diffrence now that they raised the price of the um 18. I paid 240 for the um 18 so at that time it was a 200 dollar diffrence but even with the raised price If I had to do it again I still would use the um 18

It's actually a bit over 50%, with exchange rate right now it comes to $489 USD, so it is 63% more expensive. I believe someone in the thread expressed his preference for 21DS115 BC which is $540. For my space 12' X 15' X 8' UM 18 would be plenty, i guess?

Yes with that size room it would be more than plenty. I had one going in a 32 by 18 by 10 room and it sounded great. So the um 18 would be more than eneogh
