those "caps', wish I'd known about them . .

but they also look tricky to keep clean . . .
whereas the tape gets pulled / cut off and tossed and no compromises about the the nozzle ever being well sealed

maybe next build

PL "shouldn't' need spreading, for all that I've read

and filleting the squeeze out is generally not needed , even for aesthetics

the usual suggestion is cut it off with a wood chisel after the cure

The "caps" clean up really well.... way better than I though also.

Yes for exposed areas we just trim off the excess..... inside the box we would spread to a nice round over with the tool ensuring no chance of air leakage.... if it weren't for excess subs like MAX would never get designed and built

One day I will start the new theater....... one day..... THAT DAY HAS ARRIVED

Looks really good. I'm trying to figure out how to do a baffle wall with keeping my subs as is.

I work with PL for a living (auto glass)..
A quick, dirty & cheap way to prevent non-flow after you crack the (expensive) tube is...rip the thumb off your nitrile glove, stick it over the nozzle, crank some into the nitrile to surround the tip with it's own kind. (keep it centered) Looks kinda gross but..lol... Very effective and lasts for months & months.. This keeps the hardening product on the outside (where you want) of the nozzle, instead of the inside (where you don't want).

Yeah I was trying to think how to do that. It's going to take some creativity. If you just brought them out to flush with the rest of the wall and built around them I would think that would work

Jeremy - Brian was just messing with you. We can see the pics of your room. What we can't see is the submaximus pics because apparently you don't have any yet to post. We all are eagerly awaiting those pics, and he was just kindly telling you to hurry the f&#k up. Lol. We want subs.

I know the problem. He is enjoying the room now instead of building subs! Hahahaha don't listen to us Jeremy. You have accomplished a lot! I reread this entire thread while on vacation. It's really impressive what you have accomplished. I'm so glad I met you and we have been able to indulge together.

The room looks great am I am enjoying the build thread. It's just a matter of time before competition and it will all come together! The ultimate HT is not just about spl but, how well it all blends together. That is the goal!
