Overtime at work
Our big engine tear down at work. I've been almost living here with the amount of hours we all have worked. (These make electricity and the high temp exhaust heats a high pressure boiler). I'm not in these pictures btw

Anyways here's the pictures I'll prime and paint hopefully tomorrow morning if I don't get stuck at work.

Gotta pay for all these subs somehow! Work comes first for sure, these will get done soon enough. Looking good so far, not looking like so much fun to move though!

I want to hear some Hacksaw Ridge on these, especially the naval artillery scene. Even on my little setup with only Dolby Digital (thanks Lionsgate and Netflix for lossy audio) it was shaking the seats and scaring the dog.

Also, let me know if you need my help lugging these beasts downstairs next weekend!

Ya the tools, all the parts everything is big and takes a team to work on everything. Here's a few pictures of some stuff that we took apart.
Pistons

Exhaust manifolds and others stuff the exhaust is 1000 degrees and heats a waste heat boiler for HTHW at 305psi.

Heads

Turbo...

Sorry to go off track guys but I figured I would show the inside of the engine.
It takes 3 months for a complete the tear down and rebuild 16hrs a day 6 days a week. Once running 4 million sq ft is 90 percent off the grid for electric when two engines are running 4 engines total.

I'll find out I'm not sure we run the engines at 95 percent load normally. It's loud when they run because of the turbo on it the front of it plus everything going.

You should take sick leave and finish those subs asap. I have read in some science papers that neglected subwoofers suffer from depression and anxiety disorders.

That would be nice a sick day! Last night instead of going to bed I added one more coat of primer waited 2 hrs then added the first coat of black to one of the boxes. In a few minutes I'm going to sand the second box and primer that before work. Tonight I'll repeat the process. I need to paint inside the port area to so the pl construction adhesive doesn't show up to bad.

All the boxes are safe and sound downstairs in the basement. I just got done painting the washers I'm using behind the screws because of the size of the holes the B&C subs have on The driver. Tonight after work both boxes will go in and I'll hopefully fire them up.

Very excited!

2 steps forward

7 channels backwards...

I think my 7 channel Emotiva just took a s##t on me when I pulled my rack out to hook up the 21's. It's 1:20am chi town time so I'm Done tonight.

Going to pull the amp out tomorrow and see what's up with it. When I push the power button on the lights turn on run across the front screen of it then it goes blank instead of staying blue for each channel. Sound does come out of the speaker but it sounds different... I'll know more I the morning when I take the amp out. There were lots of f bombs coming out of my mouth tonight after this happen.

The subs are un fricken unreal! Since it's so late and everyone in the house is sleeping I couldn't turn it up to loud because they get really loud really fast compared to my HT-18's.

I'll post tomorrow once I'm able to turn it up but wow these things sound really good at the low level I played them. More to come.

The room is a mess but now cleaned up.

The first movie clip through the subs.

Wow they make the mains look like they have 8's for bass drivers.

What are you powering the subs with again? Sorry I forgot. Plus I was curious to know how quiet the amp was when using these drivers.
