Ya that makes sense now, thank you. Just getting into the hobby and it seems that every thread I read just leads to 5 more questions lol. That's part of the fun though.

Absolutely part of the fun. This is the second front trio I've built. And I still have pleanty of questions. I've never owned a three way speaker. I'm so excited.
Feel free to ask any questions you still have. This is why we are all on this forum.

I glued up the waveguide brackets. I'm thinking of just spraying them flat black.

Got a little bit of wiring done. All I can say is these kits are just fantastic. With the pre assembled crossovers and flat packs, it's such a straightforward build. The baffle isn't on the boxes yet. Still waiting for the insulation. It is scheduled to arrive today. If it does in time, I'll insulate the cabs, and glue the baffles on. Tomorrow would be the big final assembly day. But I can also easily see those plans falling apart.

Keep in mind that you may want to toe in your top section. So I would think of installing the speakon on the other side for one of your other speakers (or a little further back). I have the top section of my L and R toed in quite a bit.

Thanks Vic. I have enough room to toe the whole speaker 45 degrees if I need to. So I'll probably make the waveguide bracket permanently attached centered and square.

Is there a break in period with these titans? The 15 feels very stiff.

seems like all the pro woofers need to break in a little. I usually play some full range music on them for a while

So at this point I'm about to glue on the front baffle. I think it will be easy enough to make all the speaker wire connections through the driver cutout and the port holes. I mounted the crossover through 3 of the holes, using the provided spacers. One each on the top holes, and two under the one bottom hole I could use. That kept it level although the braces I anchored to are on a different plane.

What about making it on a lazy susan type deal that you can lock into place at given angles? That might be kinda cool...

I do like your speakon wiring for the top section.

That was talked about in the general 615 discussion thread. I thought about doing that, but I don't think that I'll change the toe in much, if at all, once set up behind my screen.

I thought about making the waveguide brackets real fancy with radius slots on the sides (of the bottom) with wing nuts and a pivot point in the center for easy toe adjustment, but I feel once the ideal toe in is discovered, it will never change.

I finally got to experience some two channel full range titan 615lx listening. Wow. I instantly fell in love with the top section. The directivity of the horn loaded mid and CD is just awesome. My room mods are far from finished, so as I get things dialed in and functioning properly, I know these will really start to shine. It definitely seems the 15 needs a little break in time. But these will not be running full range in the long run. So far......I love them.

I agree let those speakers break in a little they should loosen up after some play time at medium to higher levels but not full tilt. Try out some boosted bass sound from bassnector to or someone else. Standing 12-17 feet back will bring a smile with how much bass they produce with out any subs.

Got the center built. This speaker made a world of difference to the system. These three speakers running full range leave little to be desired. The bass is full and satisfying.

I have a gen 1 xpa-3 in the way. Any thoughts on how it will do with these titans? I know great is the answer, I just know nothing about the gen 1-3 differences.

Yeah pretty much. It Is Just like the Emotiva you have now just bigger, heavier, and more power.

Lol. Didn't you say a little while ago that your a-700 should be plenty of power?

That's what I'm using to power mine. It should work fine. I thought of just using the XPA-3 to power the L and R and get an A-300 to power the center, but I think I've got all the power that I need on tap now.

An update to my listening impressions. Somehow, maybe when I lost power or some other time, my avr defaulted to loudness management on. Turned it off last night, and it was like slamming the gas pedal to the floor. These speakers gave me the feeling that I didn't need a sub for music. Very nice sound from these. I guess the loudness management gave me the feeling these needed to break in, but now it's a different story. I'm thrilled with these now and I know they will still get better.

I got to listen to Vic's Titans a little bit the other day and they were very dynamic and clear. Very impressive.

Lol. You're more than welcome to stop by. Brian was in and out picking up some speaker stands for his LCR, which he may no longer need if he's going the direction I think he's going. Also, he didn't get the full experience because my iNuke 1000DSP, which powers my MBMs, died on me after that huge storm (as did my microwave). I'll definitely have a proper GTG (even if limited in size) once I get everything running again. I also noticed that all of my PEQ, Delay and Boost settings were wiped out of my other iNukes. I'm looking at a battery backup now.

That's a bummer about your settings. Battery back up? That seems very interesting. I wonder about ground loops with stuff like that. I'm all in on a gtg at your place. I'll be ready for another at my place soon.
