Just opening my flat pack boxes up so it's time to build. I am so excited to hear these bad boys for the first time. I've even got a couple of my friends excited so I have a little help to build these. I am not going to rush (I hope) on these and plan to sand the boxes down smooth and stain a ebony color and seal them with a matte type clearcoat. I'll paint the baffle flat black to kill reflection. These are going behind my a/t screen. I just got FedEx notification yesterday the rest of the kits are on there way! Thanks @Erich H for everything. The flatpacks were packed perfectly and there was no damage whatsoever.

Example of the finish I'm shooting for. This is part of my bar top that is also Baltic Birch.

Thanks. The local MI group wants to compare these titans to Hd0823's qsc2150's. I can't wait to see how they hold up to each other. Even if it is an apples to oranges comparison, it's so fun to see and hear different speakers.

Glued up the first box. Unbelievable how nice these fit together. I have only minimal clamps, and nothing long enough to actually clamp the width or height of the box, but I feel with enough glue and patients, just holding the panels for a few minutes by hand is enough, with small clamps to get what I could. Hell, I've heard of people building flatpacks with just glue and tape.

I need to get my insulation for inside the cab. I plan on mounting my crossovers inside the box, and using speakon connections for the input on the back, and for the high and mid wires through the top to the high and mid. I sorta want to make the top section removable for easy transport.

Thanks! I figured because I didn't have to cut and build boxes from scratch, it saved time I'll use to finish these.

My guess is denim insulation. Very easy to place on the sides of the cabinet and not block ports.
I use poly-fil from walmart for my sealed cabs.

How thick is the denim insulation?
Never mind. I just ordered 2" denim insulation.

Just a little more backstory...
As soon as I found out about these new speakers, I decided to upgrade to them. That means I had to tear out my front IB box to fit them, and well I was at it, the right wall of the theater room. I never liked the wall on the right. It had a stupid jog in it from the original basement construction. I also did some upgrading of my projector, epson 5040ub for my old 5030ub, oppo 203hd for the old 103D, and picked up two more ds4's from hd0823. As part of this redo, I'm installing an equipment closet in the rear as well. So a lot keepin me busy. More pics. Before and almost after of the room.

The cabinets are coming along nicely. I like the finish your looking to get from he Baltic birch. I just priced it today picking up wood for my basement bar 60$ per sheet but the wood is really nice. These titans will have no problem keeping up with you subs. Nice room to!!

Thanks! I was happy with the I birch ply from hd. It was over 60 a sheet, but I only needed one. The bar rail killed me on price. It was like 16 bucks a foot.

Progress today will only be gluing up the other two flat packs. The first one came out very good. Obviously with bigger and more clamps they could have been closer to perfect, but I am happy with how the first one turned out. The back panel had just a very slight bow in it, so there ended up a 1/32" gap in the center on both sides. I just filled it up with more glue from the outside, and ran a bead of panel adhesive from a tube on every seem inside the box. All corners and braces. Done.

Looking forward to your build; I've been following every Titan build recently and plan on picking up a trio as well. Great colour choice for the cabinets and the bar top looks awesome to! What is your amplifier plans?

Thanks! I am keeping my eye out for an xpa-3 or something of that nature to pop up on the classifieds. Or I may just get the new emotiva amp at the three channel configuration. These will be so loud just on the a700 I have, but I want to send them enough juice for sure.

According to the specs, there is only a 25 watt difference at 6ohms between the a300 and the older XPA 3

Ah. Well maybe a nice xpa-3 will be ok.
What about three bridged behringer a500's?

I'm going to be using a a300 on my L and R and everything else on a a700. Probably overkill.

You could get two B stock a300's. There's some available

Lol yeah the 130db we maxed your spl meter out at was insane. It was loud enough, but the amps would add clarity. Overkill I would agree.

That's what I'm after. You could definitely tell the AVR was crying for mercy. Hopefully the amps give me the headroom I need. The 130db was mostly from the subs.

The Titans will be pulling more power out of your a700 so you may find that it gives you enough power. Emotiva doesn't list it but I would think it would be about 120watts into 6 ohms all channels. I'm calculating 110db rms from 10' away. That should work

I'd look at the outlaw 7140 and 5000 amps. More power lower distortion. Can't speak to build quality on the above.
Or stick to the xpa series. I started out with a upa700 and the build quality was pretty low. I can't imagine basx being much better.
Just my .02

Note to calculate SPL on these using the 99dB/2.83v/1m sensitivity figure use the power into 8 ohm rating of the amplifier. So if say the amp does 100w at 8 ohms you would get 119dB/1m.
