Anyone using Crown K2's

I was thinking of using my (4) QSC1450's for 7ch surround duty, and maybe the Crown K2 bridged for my four 15's. They can be had on ebay for $450 used. Any thoughts about this......the K2's put out about 2500watts bridged and no fans as a small side thing. The QSC's did about 1500watts.......

As of Feb 20th still looking for a Marantz SR7010

K2 is a good amp, have one running an hs24 sealed on one channel and two ava15 sealed on the other channel all going through a medium aggressive linkwitz transform and it can get scary loud. Iirc they roll off a bit higher in the ulf than ideal but no fans and absolutely bulletproof. I accidentally had the ava15 pair set up as a 1 ohm load for a couple days and I wasn't pounding on it too badly but it didn't bat an eye.

Edit, I should probably qualify, scary loud by normal people's standards not avs diy speaker standards

Haha! A K2? Damn man. What year is this?

Take me back to 2006!

They produce good power up to a point. Earlier class-D switching power supply amp, IIRC. Wouldn't use it for anything than subs. Should be decent to power the Tummies.

IIRC it had a steep HPF ~7-8hz.

Here are some measurements on the K2, I remember reading this some time ago when first posted here on AVS. Wow, i have been visiting this site for some time now. By the way, I use a Crown K2 to power my mains and I find it an excellent amp used full range. Its clean, transparent and has tremendous bass slam as its known for. Sometimes, I go OPPO 93 direct into the K2. A nice, fairly minimalist system, that just happens to have 500 watts per side.
