HTM 6s

Hey, thought I would show you all my HTM 6s build I finished awhile ago. They are to be my rears in my theater whenever that gets completed. I had bought them when they became available and built them over the next couple weekends. I should have taken more pictures during the build but oh well. I will say, the only trouble I had was during construction I neglected to pay attention to the crossover location and put it directly under a port. Quick fix but never the less didn't realize it until I was trying to hammer the port down.

I wood filled and sanded, then rolled on a flat black paint, about 5 layers thick, and sanded at the end to have a semi smooth coat. Final coat was a flat black spray paint for even coverage. I made these as perfect as I could finish wise because they should be the only speaker in my theater that will show, at least that is the plan. Everything else will be hiding behind a screen or faux wall or in a different room.

3x Cinema 10 Max, however I may build a set of f12, 15s, or htm 12s when I have more spare time.

just trying to help the OP,

If my budget would allow, I'd get another F-15 for the CC ,
another 88 Special and put the 2 of them as Rsurrounds,
with my 88's as surrounds from this spring, that would give the bed layer 7 all matched 15" SEOS horns

and the F-15's do such a good job for stereo,at times it seems like that's all that is needed . .

kinda true but this is AVS

My limiting factor will be space, I have ~18" between the wall and the edge of the screen so no ported subs behind the screen. I have wired for 7.4.4 (with 8ga wire for subs) in wall just in case however my current plan is 5.2.4. I have some v6 for atmos. I would do 1899 if it wasnt complete overkill. I will have room treatment at some point as well. WAF be damned, I discovered if you dont stop talking about theater **** they let you do whatever you want, just keep talking (may take a year or longer). I am in the process of figuring out a dual FTW 21 ported to 15hz. Maybe more haven't decided maybe sealed for <15hz.

This is exactly the tactic I used. The exact quote was " just get whatever you want, but PLEASE stop talking about it ! "

Of course, YMMV

I do the same thing with cars, computers, and video games, usually works lol. Its super effective when you are in a long car ride and thats all you talk about while shes trying to talk about something from work or random bs her friend said or something else irrelevant.

cars... she daily drives an '08 Honda Odyssey, 140K+ miles, with a '16 Miata in the driveway with under 5K miles... it is truly a toy. I drive a beater. Computers... she gets the latest greatest whenever she wants, and I truly don't care, while I rock a circa 2004 Dell Studio Hybrid running Vista. Video games... I could not care less... I haven't spent (wasted) 2 minutes in the last 15 years on that'.

But..for my Home Theater, I've not wasted time or $ with the 'incremental up-grade-itis', mostly. My path was "HTIB --full Hsu 5.2 -- DIY quad 18's in DO boxes -- Gjallarhorns -- Danley SH 50's for L and R with the SH 96 center, and Ekornes Stressless HT seating.

My dear wife has always been first, so whatever I want after that, I just get. She has been ok with everything I've purchased since, just as long as I don't 'bore her with the details' .

As always,,, YMMV... just marry up

Joseph
