Volt 8 build :)

Picked up my goodies from the border today and jumped right in. All flat packs assembled as well as the crossovers. Taking the cabinets to work tomorrow where I will putty all the seams then they will all be put into hi build primer, shaved, primed again, then painted black base with a few coats of matte clear to match the sheen of my JTR front sound stage arriving this weekend. First impressions Erich's packing skills on a scale of 1-10 is a 87 all day long, borderline ridiculous...it that good. Flat packs went together without a hitch and ditto for the crossovers. I'll post more pics as I progress 👍🙃

Can't wait to see the finish on these. What did you use for putty?

Auto body iceing, like bondo but finer and easier to sand.

All shot up black base and finished in a satin clear. Going to be shaved one more time tonight and two more coats of satin clear for good measure 👍 Assembly tomorrow if I have time, latest this weekend.

Hi. I hate you. Currently painting my Volt 8s and subs and would KILL for access to a downdraft spray booth.

Seriously though, jealous you have access to all the cool paint toys. Nice work!

Voila! First completed and three more to go 😀 Pretty happy with how they turned out. Picking up my JTR stuff this weekend so I won't have everything hooked for a listen until maybe tomorrow Sunday for sure.

Nice! I hear great things about these and may build some one day if ever get into a dedicated room.

What JTR subs did you decide to go with? I remember a while back you were trying to decide, but hadn't checked back in the JTR thread.

Very nice sir. I like the squared look and crisp lines, and that paint booth too!
