DCX2496 is dead... what's the current hotness in Sub EQing (with L/T)?

Yes fellas, I'm not dead....just been out of commission for some time. Long time no hear

So I sparked up my system (quad sealed 18" avalanche system, for those who remember) after many months of not turning it on, and what do you know, my beloved and trusted Behringer DCX2496 just flickered and after a few minutes, no signal would come out. I troubleshooted it, and yep, it's pretty much dead like Robert Baratheon. Thus I need a new replacement, and have been reading some threads here but doesn't seem like there is a good consensus.

I need an EQ that:
- it's not too $$$
- has balanced in/outs for at least 2 inputs, and 4 outputs
- has L/T or at least shelving filters to boost my low end.

I know there have been lots of talk on the miniDSP the past few years, and some other offerings, but any advice and suggestions would be very much welcomed

I like the dbx DriveRack PA2. The control app is really nice.

It has been awhile ! How are you in Floridah btw ?

I use a MiniDSP 2X4 unbalanced along with OmniMic, its perfect for my needs.

I'm still running (4) Tumults. They gotta be 12 years old by now.

As of Feb 20th still looking for a Marantz SR7010

hey KG, how are you bud? yeah man, same here...running 9 year old quad Avalanche sealeds ... still running great so no need to change.

yeah, looks like miniDSP 2x4 HD and REW is probably to cheap/best route to go, but i know there were some newer units with some bells and whistles that were supposed to be much easier to correct the room.

how is your setup running? still going strong?

They are running fine. As far as the 2x4, it does all you will need, i have alot of cabin gain below 35hz, no need to shelf at all, above 35hz is very modal, lotz of moving back and forth to "attempt" to rid the dips. I'll be experimenting with LimpMassAbsorbers to address the null centered at 45hz, time will tell on that one though. The shelving filters work great, Peak filters work great, along with REW your all set!

I ran some closemic tests to see what the subs were doing without room interaction, once i got the newer Test DVD with a dedicated LFE channel things went much better that a Mono CD track.

Over at GearSlutz studio/acoustic treatment section is full of great info on acoustic treatments. The guys who install control rooms have alot of insight to room acoustics. I understand there are mixed views on Hometheaters vs. Control room acoustic treatment, but i have had great results.......
