I purchased an Onkyo HT-S780... and in the manual it indicates a power off switch for the sub... ( but NOT the north American model )... Hmmm Why?
Anyway, I would like to have the power off feature... numerous times i wished i could just quick shut it off and NOT have to reach thru power cables ( errr ) to pull the plug.
My question. Do you think the missing power switch simply cuts the power to the sub -as if you pulled the plug? Or is there other circuitry involved? What about simply cutting off the SIGNAL? I am concerned simply cutting the signal will cause an unwanted "pop" or "crackle" -or damage the sub...
I don't want to have to power off the receiver first, before i power off the sub...
how would you modify the sub?
