Here is pics of what I have done so far.
The tube 24" x 50" tuned to 14.5 htz..

ce2000 amp.

port (27")

putting it together.

the seam.

Bottom plate.

Almost done.

I just need a cable now (speakon).
I'll be putting this against my hsu 3mk3 and svs 25-31 soon. I will let you know my impressions as soon as it's dialed in.

Good job, I will be surprised if either of those other subs even comes close. I am really impressed with the SD-12, and the sdx-15 should be a step above that.

Thanks for all the kind words. The wood I used is birch plywood. Ok, I hooked it all up.................... Holy sh!! my god this is real! I didn't think my 2 subs could be outdone so well. 1rst test was pulse (you know the scene). 121 dbs at 1m. 3/4 volume on the crown, 70 on the onkyo, and -0 sub vol. no eq. hulk chapter 23 and smokin aces chapter 14, man my wife is gonna kill me. when we watch a scary movie she already sceams. whew! all this for less than half of the hsu. As soon as i can figure this stupid bfd out I'll dial it in and graph it. Oh, my friend john (the guy in the pic) did the seam, and helped with the rest of the build. I already pulled the svs and hsu out of the room. will be selling the hsu soon.

A big thanks to steve callas for the design and help along the way. and thanks to steve nn for all your help also.

complete and in it's new home. (notice any other subs?)

Yup!

great stuff! Heck, if my ported AV15 box slapped the SVS ultra silly, I knew this would just blasted out of the water.........but it's good to hear the reaction straight from an owner!

heck, at this rate, we will have converted most of the commercial sub owners to DIY......... Bott and company would not be too fond of that!

Converts...and once you go DIY there is little chance going back too!

Yes the SDX15 should have a field day with any commercial "tiny" paper tube sub.

lvisneau,

Great work, you should hear as well as feel this one. A job well done.

Ask yourself mortal , do you have as much displacement as me ? The answer is no unless you have a Windmere fan sub.

Ive read alot, alot of reviews on this sub. Mostly ppl run it sealed. Thany you for telling us your opinion on it. Most of the time its all build up then its done and the owner talks about the box or something. I am glad you like it. I want to get a few of these pending other ppl's reviews.
