Yep, having and anechoic chamber in the home is almost as practical as having the same car as Iggster's friend to test with.

But it does answer the question...

I have 4 Fi Q 18s in my family room....they go really low and really loud with 2400 Watts

Fi Qs can be modified (lower Q, etc) for Home install, just ask scott and he will do it. BESIDES that They have HUGE displacement for the $$$$, the best in the large displacement category.

Honestly, FI Q18s should be the #1 DIY speaker if you want to spend $300 or less (buy 4 get a huge discount ) and get HUGE performance.

btw, I have 2 15" TC2000s in a box for the past year still havent finished that HT room for them!

You could always use the one at Benefield Anechoic Facility in Edwards Air Force Base.

Wait, so your family room has 4 18's and your HT room is gonna have 2 15's? Something seems a little odd about this.

lol, very true

Last year I bought the 2 15" to build dual sonotubs for my HT room I was waiting to build in our new house that wasnt finished....The house was delayed the HT room is even more delay.

While wasting endless days on here I learned about the IB and how great it is. Well I decided that I might as well add a sub to the family room and since a big sub on the floor is WAF the IB in the ceiling. I was going to add two more 15" and do it but then I started reading about the 18" Mach5s being so cheap....then on the IB cult forum someone posted about the Fi Q18s having a great price and great discounts if we order many. The difference in displacement on the Q18 vs the Mach5 is huge so I decided to buy 4 of them.

HT room at 1/4 the size will still exist and will have better SQ because of treatments and sound proof (almost) so the wife wont complain. The family room is great for hosting sporting events ( you can feel the hits in football) and parties (New Years eve rocked!!). Heck it has "stadium seating", The main area is sunken with steps are around 1/2 the room
