I'm glad he's not part of the Van Jones, Anita Dunn, George Soros crowd that believe in a One World Govt. I really like America and I don't want to fundamentally change it, I suggest you be thankful to be a American and be thankful for everything this great wonderful country of ours affords us for example this country lets you sit online all day and play games and be ungrateful and complain about how this great nation has spoiled you so much. But I do believe you are part of the crowd who thinks America is a "downright mean place" because we don't have a massive multi-trillion dollar tax payer funded government control healthcare system. But in fact no other country on this earth gives it's people back more in the form of Social Security than the U.S. does.
Now, Glenn Beck made his millions, whether you agree with him or not it's his right and if you or anyone doesn't like it well go out and make your own money. But I notice there's a bit of hypocrisy, I don't see anyone mention Al Gore's massive mansion that has a $30,000 annual electric and gas bill which is 10x the national average when Al Gore is the one pushing the big hoax of "Man Made" global warming and how coincidently conveniently started calling it now "Global climate change" as he and his Hollywood elitist buddies ripped up half of LA's once beautiful landscape building mansions in exclusive isolated gated communities.http://www.ibtimes.com/contents/2010...s-neighbor.htm
By the way, I looked at your nice Home Theater, I do like it, but I would say that maybe you live a hypocritical lifestyle, you seem to be living the life of those "greedy Republicans" and how is your life any different than anyone else who is into lots of excess and materialism and uses capitalism to benefit your lifestyle? I suggest you practice what you preach and get your political views in tune with your own lifestyle. Maybe you can post us your annual electric and gas bill and tax returns and show us how much you're living a "green" lifestyle and contributing to make your carbon foot print smaller as Al Gore, Hollywood and the Democrat Party demand from everyone else.
You're making a lot of assumptions about my political views.
I'm not a greenie. I'm not a democrat. I'm politically agnostic: you might believe in politicians and their party platforms, but I do not. I don't care how much carbon you use or how much money anyone makes. Where you got these ideas about me I have no idea, but it really doesn't matter one way or the other. This is just a thread on an AV discussion forum and hardly relevant to anything, except for perhaps our own amusement. If you're amusing yourself with these posts of yours, then great. That's the only reason I am here; let's be clear.
The fact is, I would love to cash in on the Beck "market," and I don't think there is anything wrong with making a buck. Who said I have any probem with him making money? More power to the guy.
The only thing I've admitted to in this thread is my belief that the kind of people who buy the whole "Obama = socialist" nonsense are typically the same type of people who are ripe for the picking for people like Beck, and I would *love* to get in on that gravy train. You can disagree with me if you like. I don't care. It's no skin off my nose. The world is full of easy targets and while this lot might not be the most gullible, to me, they are right up there. Christian Fundies are at the top of the list, which is why guys like Robert Tilton made so much money with his televangelism -- however, that's one line I personally would not cross, likely because I am too superstitious to take advantage of someone's religion. Someone's politics, on the other hand.... that's a different story.
I wouldn't hesitate to sell Beck's snake oil. And I wouldn't feel bad about it for a minute. He's an entertainer, nothing more.
As far as my home theater goes, it's "real." This conversation is not. This conversation is like a bad egg fart after late morning brunch --it clears the room and draws a lot of attention, but amounts to nothing substantial, except perhaps the need to purchase Beano or alter one's diet, speaking of which, maybe it's time for a new years resolution to stop breaking wind on AVS. Given that any politically motivated comment made on an AV dedicated forum is tantamount to breaking wind, I'd say you and I are both guilty of reeking up the joint. I'll stop if you will.
Or better yet, maybe a mod will lock the thread and prevent all of us from reeking it up from this point forward. And hopefully we are provided with a moist towelette.
