Inside P. Diddy's iPad-Controlled, Luxury Yacht

By Steve Crowe
Custom iPad app gives rap mogul complete control over $850,000-per-week superyacht.

Of all the iPad apps available, rap mogul Sean "P. Diddy" Combs has the coolest app you'll never be able to download.

Diddy has a custom-made app that gives him and his family complete control of his new luxury yacht "Solemates."

CNN says "Solemates" is the first yacht to have this technology. There are 14 iPads to control all on-board entertainment - including "enough flat-screen LCD panels to tile a roof - and climate settings, as well as lights and blinds. The iPad can even summon the crew to bring passengers refreshments.

There's even an $80,000 integrated light and sound system that converts a gym into a disco dance floor - all controlled from the iPad.

"You won't find this app for download in the Apple store any time soon," Rupert Connor, central agent from chartering firm the Luxury Yacht Group, tells CNN. "The captain hands each guest their own iPad when they board, which they get to keep for the entirety of their trip."

Weird since Forbes had him listed as of 2010 with a net worth of $380 million. So by your 'known' estimate he has almost tripled that within a year despite being largely absent?

$850k/wk is probably what it'll cost someone else to rent it out (and what smart businessman isn't going to use an asset like that to help pay for itself). It's also probably the figure that will be used to value his "donation" for tax purposes when it's used to host charity events.
