OK, back on track (for as long as I can hold out anyway)
I've got a couple of year old SHARP Notevision (forget model #...XR-s1, maybe?). It's business class that is pretty bright. 4:3, but hat doesn't bother me...I watch letterboxed. Fairly short throw. I really like it.
My deck screen is black out cloth (BO cloth), roughly 4x8 feet. It's not an exact ratio, but it only took about an hour to make the frame and another hour to help the wife sew velcro onto it.
Takes me about 5 minutes to hang the screen and put the projector out. I use a cheap RCA HTiB I got at Target and mounted some outdoor speakers I got from BB. I use a short, plastic cabniet designed for garden tools that I sotore a everything but the projector, so complete set up and takedwon is less than 10 minutes each.
Got rained out of the deck this weekend but watched The Orphanage inside on the 65". Not to be confused with the more recent Orphan. This one is in Spanish with English sub-titles which Netflix didn't mention. Still, it was pretty good, you know, like 3:10 To Yuma.
We showed Hotel for Dogs on Saturday. Finally had some great weather, but the crowd was definitely one of the lightest crowds we have seen. Probably about 25-30 people total. We all still had a really good time.
Unless we do one in October (depending on the weather, of course), this may have been our last one for the season. sniff.
Likely closed for the season as well. Although we will look closely at the weather over the next several weeks, because I would love to do an impromptu "spooky" movie for Halloween - something like Coraline, Corpse Bride, or even Nightmare Before Christmas.
