Looking at mounting a HD LCD outside above my outdoor fireplace. It is not directly open to the elements, there is a roof that attaches my house to the outdoor fireplace next to the pool. What type of enclosure should I be looking for to protect my TV? I do not want to buy a new TV every summer when it is hot and humid, and again in the winter when it is cold and snowy.
Thanks

I don't see why you can't build a simple wooden box enclosure - a top hinged door could seal it from the "elements".

If this enclosure is under a roof I don't think you would have a problem. LCD tvs ship in sealed boxes in non air conditioned trucks and trailers every day without problems.

I'd make sure the enclosure completely seals out the heat and humidity and - IMO - you should be okay.

well you could buy a outdoor hd tv. they're water proof and are made for outdoor. there costly but worth it if exposed to the elements.

In my experience wooden boxes even under cover begin to absorb moisture and in time (4 months in my case frown.gif ) the TV failed as the internal circuits had corroded. There are many different solutions out there at the moment that will not absorb moisture and this is the best in our experience.

Wouldn't like you to waste money like we have!
