Hi, hope someone has a suggestion.
I put together a polyvinyl tarp screen for camping trips (14' x 10' white , double backed, clothesline wire hooked through the grommets and racheted into place between 2 trees). The setup is ok, but I am getting quite a bit of glare from the tarp, which is too 'shiny'. Is there a paint or product that I can use to matte it down to get a better picture?

Thanks

OOoooo...that one's pretty tough. I would think that paint would not stick the vinyl. Most of the painted outdoor screens I've seen have been plain painter canvas tarps.

there is screen paint out there that is applied in a few steps.

I guess another choice would be to alter the polyvinyl by applying some kind of product to remove the gloss. Any ideas on what would do the trick? It doesn't need to be perfect or even close, I'm just looking to improve what I have. People watching the movie don't complain about the glare, but it drives ME crazy!

Nice, they estimated $2500 to cover the size tarp I want to put up outside.

What a joke!

Maybe matte banner material would be a better choice?

Have you looked at carls outdoor screens? Mine is 16' x 9' BOC, no issues, no need to paint.

You might check out Dazian fabric as well. Can be had in HUGE dimensions.

Hmm, That is a tough one because like the other guy said, paint doesn't really stick well to Tarps . Maybe you can get a custom made tarp?

maybe making one out of a canvas drop cloth might be better? way easier to paint than a plastic tarp, easy to install grommets into.

Maybe make one from a canvas drop cloth? easier to paint!
