Hi guys,

Can you guys help me out which one would be the best pick for me. I want to use the projector for backyard movies with the family showing cartoons and also actions movies. The screen i'll be using will be from costco because I have a $100 gift card to use there and it's the OS132 132” (3 m) diagonal screen. In the future I would like to upgrade the Carl's Place screen 9 X 16. The reason I pick these two projectors because there about $400 that's how much I want to spend and there going to be refurbished models. Which I don't mind because they do come with 1year warranty here are the models specs:

1. Acer H5360 (720p, 2500 lumens, 3D, good review at projectorecentral, DLP (so some rainbow effect possible))

2. EPSON EX7210 1280 x 800 2800 Lumens 3LCD Multimedia Projector 3000:1

Thanks for your help.

I just ordered the Epson, should receive it tomorrow, so i cant comment on the performance yet. But if you do decide to get it, Epson sells it directly from their website for the same price plus free ship and no tax.

I had an Epson EX7200 that I used outdoors. It worked great. I gave it to my brother in law when his plasma died. That was 2 years ago. He still uses it as a daily tv today with no issues.

i have and use the acer h5360 for backyard theater. i have some 400 hours over a year and a half of use on the lamp and have not noticed any rainbowing effect. the built-in speaker is expectantly weak (5W or so). dont expect to use the 3D features unless you already have DLP active shutter glasses or have pretty solid PC with that Nvidia 3D solution for 3D playback.
