We had a fantastic night last night. I ended up just doing three things:
1. I used those sewing hoops (about 20 inches in diameter or so) and put stretched a very thin material inside, and hung two of them against the windows in two rooms upstairs for little screens. I have two projectors, so used them both to project the fiery eye from the Terror Eyes, so when dark it looked like two giant eyeballs in the upper windows of the house.
2. I put a speaker in one of the windows--the Terror Eyes DVDs have great scary voice-over--"I SEE YYOUUUU!!!", etc.
3. I fashioned giant teeth out of styrofoam, painted them with rit whitener, and hung them over the doorway, with a black light.
The whole effect was very cool, and actually simplistic if you think about it. Although I had other ideas, these were the only ones I was able to get set up in the short amount of time I had before dark and trick-or-treaters.
We had people coming from all over, and taking pictures of the "Monster House". There was one kid that wouldn't come to the door because he was too afraid!
I have a couple of pictures that I will post, but left them on the camera at home. Will post when I get a chance.
Thanks for everyone's suggestions in this thread!
