Wierd world.........

I talked about 3D projection being my next possible adventure with CRT.

And today that journey started,

This might be old new for some of you but thought I would mention it.....

I just picked up "The Polar Express Blu Ray in 3D" AND "Journey to the center of the earth Blu Ray 3D"

(Centre for those in ENGLISH )

BOTH come with FOUR 3D glasses so I can have 8 people watching.

Anyone seen these yet?
What do you think?

I had in the past looked at PC based systems that played SD back and created 3D for single projector use, when I went HD only I shelved this project, NOW this is a real cheap way into HD 3D.

Other options include items found here....

I have Polar Express and it is HORRIBLE on my setup. Not watchable. I don't think I ever even made it to a 3D scene.........

I need to bring my PS3 upstairs to my Plasma and try it. I wonder if it would make a difference?????

I watched Journey to the centre of the earth the other night. 3D effects were gimmicky but welcome. Was difficult to get into at first, after making it through first 20 minutes it was less painful, but after about an hour I started to get fidgity again. Colours were really lacking.

Journey to the Center of the Earth was terrible on my system too, really dark and very green.

Did you notice any misconvergence? It was horrible on Polar Express with the 3D glasses on. I couldn't stand it. I actually got dizzy.

I'm going into the theater right now to try it one more time. I'll report back.

I got Journey and ordered 8 pairs of the special magenta/green glasses figuring it might be fun to do a party around it.

I fired up the projector and gave it a trial run. I have to agree with everything that been said. I had a headache after about 5 minutes! The special effects are pretty cool at times, but the colors and everything else are so bad.

I may eventually watch it someday on our 62" Samsung DLP where I can crank up the brightness without worrying about burn-in.

Don't think that I am ready to issue my friends silly looking glasses but I would love to see what the Sensio 3D Cinema Encoder would look like on a blend.

Wonder if the superior optics of CRT lenses will give them an advantage for 3d apps?

What about if you increase the refresh rate ??? In true stereoscopic systems they run 96 or 141 ish refresh rates ???

Interesting... it might be worth trying 1080i at 120 Hz.

Hi,

What are your thoughts about 1080i instead of p ?

And why 120 not 144?

Just curious never tried this.
