The leaves are just starting to turn around the lake I live on just a few miles north of WM in MD. My guess is that in two weeks, the leaves will be well toward peak at the WM spread in VA.

So as I down my 5th energy drink of the night, I realize that the day is close at hand. Where does the time go? The only time it seem to go faster is when we are at a meet.

With that being said, I would have to go ahead and declare the next couple of weeks CRT OFFICIAL PARTY TIME.

In the past people have shown up on Friday night, particularly those staying at Wms or nearby and there has been a fine dinner at a local restaurant. Just like a wedding rehearsal dinner for those wedding guests traveling a great distance.

It is now M - 13 days, and counting. Only person I have heard from who is not coming is Bob (Citation4444). Also, I have not heard from Mark Connors, so I assume he is not coming. Still, about 40 attendees expected. Not a bad crowd.

The expected attendee list, as of 2009 October 4, fur as I know it, is:

Don Wallace (BBQ God, aka Wallace1234, aka Wallace123456)
Cliffy (Overclkr)
Ken Whitcomb (D6500Ken)
John (Emdawqz1)
Clarence (Clarence)
Mike (MP)
JBJR
Arli (Bomrat)
Craig Rounds + Lovely & Talented Wife (CIR Engineering)
Adam (BBfarmht) (Tentative)
Dropzone7
William and The Lovely & Talented Mona Seaward
Scott (AdrianKelly)
SC (ecrabb)
lexx21 and The Lovely & Talented Denise
Don Kellogg
Ron + Lovely & Talented Wife (macqyver655)
Mark Haflich
TimB + Lovely Mystery Wife (tentative)
Joe Hickman
Neil Mallik
Joel (tri_joel)
Jeff Coles
Ben, Robert, & Cheryl (CRTBen, CRTRobert & The Lovely & Talented CRTCheryl)

William (+ lovely & talented Cheryl)

Plus TBD Mystery Guests

Lots of upgrades to the video chain. Update description coming shortly.

Menu details to probably be posted by BBQ God sometime this week.

MP is coming over Friday, for what we both hope is the final calibration session (geometry and grayscale).

The lovely & talented Cheryl and I just went to a really classy wedding and reception last night, at a 200+ year old plantation not 5 mintues from the Home Theater. (The Home Theater is the Reference Point for the entire universe.) There most definately will be a rehersal dinner at a local classy country restaurant. We have many very good ones to pick from. American, English, French, Seafood, Italian, German, etc available within 20 minutes of the Home Theater. Anyone having arrived on Friday is welcome to participate. We must reherse to kick into Meet Mode!!!

Also, for all of you bringing Lovely & Talented wives/GFs who may like a side diversion, my Lovely & Talented wife runs the tasting room at a local winery, not 3 minutes from the Home Theater. Like at professional conferences, we could set up a "2009 East Coast Blend Meet Swedenberg Winery Tasting" spouses event should there be sufficient interest. Spouses could shuttle over to the winery, and sample the 6 or so estate wines offered. Why they could even have a picnic lunch, outside, overlooking the 250+ year old working farm, a gorgeous view unto itself.

Cliff had a lot to say on the phone.. he's probably just saving his words.. I'm sure they will come out soon enough, the mad man shall be unleashed soon, I expect.

Dinner you say Mark? I'm a weapon of mass consumption, I'm packing plastic, and that's what make life so f'ing fantastic. Some one might want to warn the restaurant, hehe

Time to get a census on who would like to attend Friday (October 16th) night's Rehersal Dinner. I will take a stab at those whom I'm almost certain will attend:

William
Cliffy
Arli
Don
Mark

Anyone else interested, please chime in. I would like to make a reservation, and need an approximate number of attendees.

Any preference on type of food, or should the host simply choose?

Time to get a census on who would like to attend Friday (October 16th) night's Rehersal Dinner. Right now, between those who I think will attend, and those who have chimed in, the list looks like:

William
Cliffy
Arli
Don
Mark
Ken
Clarence

No one has expressed a preference, so I'm thinkin either The Red Fox Inn (excellent food, fabulous atmosphere, claims to be the oldest continually operating hotel/tavern/restaurant in America) or the relatively new French restaurant. Both are in Middleburg, which puts them about 5 mintues from the Home Theater, and both satisfy Cliffy's criterion.

Any preference?

I looked up the Red Fox Inn and its dinner menu. What`s the name of the French restaurant? Is it the Frech Hound? Both restaurants are on line, just plug in the name and Va. Is this like choosing between a Marquee 9500LC Ultra II and a G90 or rather 2 Marquees and 3 G90s? (Sorry Wm and Cliffy)? Seriously, the menu for the French Hound looks more interesting than the Red Fox Inn which is more upscale traditional southern VA, The hound looks like some very authentic and classic French including snacks and desserts etc without being overly heavy. Remember after dinner there must be room for beer and Sat by noon, one`s tummy must be empty and ready for the WORLD`S GREATEST BBQ (yummy for the tummy) and beer.

Pressure is on for the bbq and food stuff.... I'm ready!

But, I'm kinda worried about Friday night dinner. Can the Red Fox place handle the "wrecking crew"?

I am soooo looking forward to this!

William,
We will not be able to attend the rehearsal dinner, as we have tickets for the Capitol Steps. Not sure what kind of interest has been expressed in the winery visit, but that did perk up the L&T Shirley's ears.

That group has been around for a long long time. I am sure you will enjoy the Capitol Steps as much as ex Congressman Jonn Jenrette, Jr and his then wife Rita did. Jonh was convicted of accepting a bribe while a Congressman. He had sex with his wife Rita behind a pillar on the capitol steps during a late night session of Congress. This was I believe late 1970s. The Capitol Steps took their name from this incident. Rita who John met on the hill while a Congressman was hot and I believe after divorcing the convicted felon posed for Playboy.

I am leaving town tomorrow and will be out of communication this weekend. I will be thinking of you WM doing high school geometry with MP this weekend and slaving over two hot projectors while I am drinking bourbon and smoking a stogie at Keeneland Race Track in Lexington KY. Every time I look up at the cigar smoke I will be thinking of double gray scale calibrations. Seriously, I know you guys will have great fun in doing a final tune up to reach blend perfection. Have a great time and I will see you next Friday.
