Its ten years since I left my Electrohome with my friend's house in Chicago. In Hong Kong I've moved around a few DLPs and LCD, but its never the same. I'm currently using the one I like best, a SIM2 HT300+. But lamp cost and noise make me wonder if there is a compact CRT projector I can revert to that supports high definition - any leads ?

compact CRt and Hi-def are mutually exclusive. All CRT's capable or really resolving HD are going to be 8 or 9 inch EM focusing = large 165 to 250 pounds. You can pick a taller one like a marquee 18 inches tall by 32' long. Or a low profile machine like a Barco at 14" tall x 46 inches long.
