I have an older SOny KV-32FS16 crt tv, a while ago i kept turning off by itself, now it wont even turn on, if you hit power it makes a weird sound kinda like birds chirping.
However it gets 4 blinking red lights at the stand by light.

I found this online:

Four blinks - No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505

dont understand that mumbojumbo, does it mean my tv is caput?

Yes, it has a problem in it. If you don't understand the quote above, then please call a tech, as you're liable to get zapped since you're not a technician.

Yes it is caput. I would call a Sony technician or just dump it and get ya a new set.

You could probably replace your for free on CL. Only a *very* few direct view CRTs have any value anymore. As others have said it points to failed components if you don't know what it means you aren't going to be able to fix it. That said hit your local CLs for a free or nearly so CRT or throw in the bag and go digital.
