I've kept my 80lb giant for six years now. It may be fuzzy and not as sharp. It might only do 1080i72 max. It may take two days to set up. But where is Your 3d 90es or 40RS so dark on a ftb you can't take two steps to find the bathroom? This is bordering

they use a gamma of 2.2 by default and brag about it. Trying to say its a standard. Or JVC goes to a 'whooping' 2.4. I. supposed to be impressed when my dwin is slightly over 2.5 and still clips nothing? I hate to rant, but does anyone feel the same and

No no flame on! It's quite comical for what is considered acceptable these days in terms of display and material.

Hey, when Jersey Shore is a runaway hit, is the general public really concerned about absolute blacks?

You are not alone. My G70 is still running strong. And, I still burst out, "look at that black." Anyone that has been to my theater more than a few times knows about black and knows that digital can't touch that or the color.

This story has been told here before, but this seemed like an appropriate time to repeat it.

Back in 2004 or so a bunch of us were at at tradeshow (I think it was CEDIA) and got tickets to a presentation by TI of National Treasure on a Digital Cinema DLP. Before the presentation a representative got up and told us about how many millions of colors the projector could do, so if we thought there was a color we couldn't see because of the projector we were wrong. Curt Palme instantly yelled out, "BLACK!!!". The lady may not have gotten it, but we all laughed.
