What would be the minumum required distance for a Marquee 8000 and 40x94 screen? I will have the setup for a fixed height, variable width method.

I don't know your projector, but it is normal to have fixed width and adjust the height instead. Just the opposite of what you intend to do.

This is to use as much raster as possible. Within certain limits of course.

Andre,

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I can hopefully clarify my question. I'm concerned about the manufacturer's recommended lense to screen distance for my particular screen. I don't know what the requirements are for my particular setup. All movies will be seen with the height being the same, and the width being variable. I know that an overhead transparency projector will only focus an image on the screen to fill that screen also if you meet the minimum lense to screen distance. If I use a scaler to do the aspect ratio control for movies in the 2:35 format to fill the tube's raster area, then the full area of the tubes will be used with the use of that scaler, right? I want 2:35 movies to fill the screen, as the screen is in the 2:35 ratio, and the rest of movies in 4:3 & 16:9 to vary only to the width, and not the height. The projector's manual states the proper distance from projector lense to 4:3 screens, not 2:35 or 16:9. I need to know what the minimum distance for a 40" height screen is, and also conform for the variable width of other films not in the 2:35 aspect ratio as well

Dan.

Isn't the standard method for setting up a projector and designing the "room's" layout to define and plan placement based upon the desired image width? If so the second step would be to design your additional presents to manage the images height, convergence, etc.

Any comments or thoughts from you pros out there?

Tnx
