At this point, it's a buyer's market. It will all depend on tube condition. If there's wear, I wouldn't go over $200. Tubes are $700 each.

Yeah it is pretty dead.

If that is the one on CL, then I wouldn't pay $1k. You can use mine as an example. I am willing to sell my G70 with good tubes and a full spare set of boards from another G70 for $500. That should get him moving.

.

Right, but each of the 5 times was for 1000 hours continuous.

Do you know how many times I've heard that line? It's worse than buying a used car from a little old lady that only drove to church on Sundays.

If the tubes are mint, esp. the green, then maybe $500, but keep in mind that the set is 15 years old at this point, and parts do age even when just sitting there.

If the guy is under the impression that it's worth $1000s because it was about $25K new 15 years ago, walk away slowly.

Yup! That gets you to the service menu. Hours are near the bottom of the menu items.

looked at the PJ this evening.
It is really clean but the owner can't find the remote.
I told him I would not buy it without it.
He is going to look for it tomorrow and get back to me.

However, if anyone here has and extra remote they can part with I would greatly appreciate it.

With people parting these pjs I'm sure there must be a few floating around.
I don't mind paying for one at a reasonable price.

Thanks

Also it may help to take an led flash light and look in the lenses and check the tubes for wear. I know with Ehomes this can be done to somewhat success, however I don't know about Sony. Worth a shot though.

Did you compare to curts wear chart on the website? Also the tubes could be in "low emission" stage as well. I bought two Ehomes that way and didn't even realize till I was home speaking with Dragnm that they had gone in to low emission. If there at 5k in hours. You will possibly need to retube them. G70 are tube burners.

The tubes will produce only a faint light. You'll know. Trust me.
When you look down a tube the light should be fairly bright and may even hurt to look down them. When their on. Obviously.

Ok - thanks.
The tubes were full on.
I had to turn the contrast and brightness down to look in and they still looked great.

Lucky bastard! :P Good score, you'll love the set. BTW, the G70 can be set up completely with the internal keypad, so don't delay, but knock the seller down in price.

Get it off the floor. The beast occupies the best seat in the house. If I can get a 240lb G90 mounted up high the G70 will be a walk in the park. An electric winch mounted above the ceiling (if space permits) is a great investment.

I already have a xg75 on the ceiling with a Chief electric winch.
But I still have to figure out how to mount the G70 to the winch.
The xg came with the ceiling mounting hardware.

Is there ceiling mounting hardware for the G70 or will I have to improvise?

Thanks
And thanks for the welcome.

Apart from the Picture thread this is the most excitement the CRT forum has had in a long time

Don't worry it won't last long. CP's site is where its at, at least for CRT, as you already know.

The OEM mount is the PSS-70. Maybe difficult to find one though. Search the Bay, CL and CRT resellers. Unistrut is the way a lot of people go if all else fails.
