Hi i have a seleco 500+ that i acquired recently, and am wonder how i would go about connecting a computer to it at 1080i. Do i need some kind of external Line double? can i connect it straight to the my video card 9800 gtx (in my HTPC), If so do i have to connect with a break out component connection or can i do it thought VGA?
Any information would be greatly appreciated
VGA out to whatever input the Seleco has (RGBHV) is fine. It probably has 5 BNC inputs, so you will need a VGA to 5BNC cable. eBay has those for cheap.
The PJ has a VGA input, will that not work instead? also when people say that input 1080i does that mean that they 1080i at 16:9 (1920 x 1080) or at 4:3 ( 1440 X 1080) ?
someone in my aera is selling a Sony VPH-1251 for 100$ is a significant upgrade over the seleco 500, I know that it has a higher progressive scan resolution, but i am planning to only use this projector connected to computer to watch movie hopeful set at 1080i
should i wait until a more significantly better CRT Projector is available to me
Thanks for the quick response
PS: Love your site Curt has been really help these last few weeks
The H scan rate cannot exceed 38Khz, which would be 1080i at 60Hz.
If the VGA connector is an input, then yes, you should be able to use it.
THe 1251 uses bigger tubes, but will give about the same pix as the Seleco. You want an EM focusing set..
