Sorry for being a total ignoramus here.

How much do these things cost? (CRT projectors)

Can I adjust the picture size?

How bad are "burn in" problems, are they less of an issue than say with a plasma tv set?

picture size is set correctly by moving the PJ back and forward, there's a fine adjustment but proper throw distance is important.
Typically 9 feet back to the lenses for an 8 or 9 foot wide screen is typical, although you can go as small as 60 inches wide by moving the machine forward.

The machines are now o be found anywhere from free up to a few hundred bucks.
If your sloppy or play a lot of games, you can burn the tubes, but if you watch movies and mute the pic when you leave the room the tubes will last for many thousands of hours.

A few of us here can also provide re-furbished machines depending on your budget which, considering the machines are at least 10 -15 years old now, might be a good idea
