Its a lot different than the XG I used to own. Set-up is so much faster! I am disappointed there is no way to stretch the screen vertically of horizontally though. I would of thought that to be a no-brainer.

My new theater is almost complete so I re-hung my JVC this past weekend. I have been tinkering a bit and still cannot get the blacks to where I would like them to be, but almost. I have the Iris set to "Auto 2" and the Lens Aperture all the way closed. On "black" images, I can still stick my hand in front of the image and cast a shadow on the screen. It's a matte white screen and I'm thinking about changing it to grey??

I'd love to keep in touch with you and compare notes since we are both newbies to the D-ILA and come from the same CRT technology and mind-set.
I may start another thread in the "correct" forum so be on the look out.
Thanks.

I don't know with Auto 2 and a aperture setting of -5, I have a pretty dark screen (whole room painted 18% Gray help too) and the shadow detail is much better than I could get with my crt...or one of the NEC tech's who came out to look at my system. (said it was set about as good as it could be and didn't make any changes) I like to use the opening night shot of orange sky and city rooftop in "From Hell"...and the Daniel Craig Casino Royale poker scenes with all the various black suits, ties, and shirts.
