If it was 2000 you could probably sell that guy for $40000. Unfortunately, in 2013, I think you're looking around the $1000 to $1500 range. Depending on any modifications to it and add-ons (lift, screen, etc.) you might be able to sell it for $2000 to $2500. I've seen some listed between $1500 to $2250 - even seen one listed at $5000!

I have a Vision One that I received in a home purchase - knowing nothing about CRT projectors I figured it was either useless or comparable to the local cinema. I was half right. It is definitely a top of the line projector that still competes with new digital projectors. Unfortunately, they are hassle to maintain and expensive to upkeep.

I have no idea about the Faroudja - I have one too, but I do not know what it is worth. I'll probably sell mine in combo with a Lexicon MD-12 (non-HD) pre-amp I have.

I'll give you the same advice that was given to me: enjoy it until you need to fix it. Good luck!

8500 Ultra 38-P15285-98

This is no 9"LC machine, even with mint tubes you will not get 1000 usd for it i'm afraid.

I did a little research and I concur with FragZero - if it was a 9500 you might have something. You could always make some modifications to it and make it a faux 9500 LC: http://www.avsforum.com/t/352250/market-value-of-a-marquee-8500-ultra-converted-to-a-9500-ultra

I don't know how easy it is to do that and at what cost, though.

IT looks like either the Vidikron back cover got broken and someone put on a plain sheetmetal cover from a marquee,or someone hung a partial set of Vidikron covers over a marquee. The Faroudja scaler is worthless, maybe 20 bucks. If you get $500. for the projector that would be a great deal, for you more than the buyer.

if you convert it,the front bezel over the lenses will no longer fit

It also has no Video amps on the tubes. Id say 200 bucks, if the back vidikron cover was there then youd be able to get 200 just for the cover.

Id part it out, sell all the boards on Ebay separately Power supplies etc.
