hi. i have installed my "new" 6pg and did the manuel setup from curtpalme properly. now i did the adjustment and even if not perfekt, my picture is okay so far.

But, circles look like eggs. i will post the testpicture for better explenation later if it got dark here.

anyway, i am feeding my crt by vga to rgb with my laptop @ 1280x768.

what am i doing wrong or what can i make to circle my eggs please. also tried the h-potentiometer on the "first" board which kind of does the trick but its still no circle AND i think i am using too much phosphor by that, because i have to streighten out the picture horizontaly to the maximum to get something "like" a circle..

HELP please.

aja, and by the way my picture isnt very sharp..

bw christoph

turning the trim pots on the NEC can damage the machine and require a technician with oscilloscope to repair, so I would not go mucking around inside the chassis. everything you need to do to set-up the machine is in the manual. Start with this and follow it carefully

1280 x 768 is a 1.66 to 1 aspect ratio, which will require reducing the vertical size in the size controls to make circles round (assuming you have a movie type "widescreen" and not a square office/business type screen .
Actually, for DVD movies you should be using 1280 x 720 for DVD content, which will require reducing vertical size even more. Also, in the electronic menu's under the astig setting you have to set it for floor or ceiling mounting depending on how you have it set-up..
