I got the number from WanMan, you'd have to get it through him. I think WanMan has first access to all the best stuff though.

You guys will have to admit that Q's holding his own here. It's him and Darin against about 20 of you dinosaur big hitters.
I mean come on now, not even two of the meanest WWF wrastlers would have the gonads to go in the ring against twenty. Not unless wrastlin was fixed. And I hope ya'll aren't gonna tell me that this is fixed.

His astonishing ability to absorb punishment leads one to suspect that during his long Warrior career techman has taken a few too many punches.

What does Darin have to do with QQQ? QQQ is off the wall, whether we're talking digitals or CRT. His position is obstinacy!

Okay. Then that makes it 20 to only 1. His gonads must be even twice as big.

Bob,

It won't make much difference since they're both high on the same stash. Besides, I'm defending YOUR 3600.

QQQ, you really that bored? Can I help find you a customer for those highly desirable digitals?

When will D* stop pushing HD-Lite while charging us for full HD? Digital input on a CRT is a reality, not a possibility.

I've never had Ampros, but if it's so bad, why is Bob keeping it? He's the Sultan of Cheap, he must know something....I think.

Maybe he like replacing those $1,000 boards?

What was the name of the guy who supplys James Bond with all his gadgets? Muliply that times 3 and you know why Bob won't tell us the truth!

Does this mean I should stop working on thuis 3600 I have here???

The only reason Q's gonads are so large is from the swelling crated by zapping them with 35Kv.

I propone that both CRT and Digital projectors have terrible reliability issues, since apparently all your projectors are down. Otherwise, why spend so much time in nonsense threads?

;)

ps: techman, I think you should apologize for using such inappropriate and offensive language on the forum. :f

A word like 'obstinacy' has no place in a friendly discussion. :D

Actually they're all working, that's why I'm bored. Summer programming is such crap. And until I get an HD camcorder, the low res of the home movies are too terrible to watch on the projector.

And I'm still permanently out of stock of digital bulbs, much to the consternation of the people that write the 10 emails I get a day.

Is "consternation' an OK word to use in this thread?

;)

Since all this started with discussion of the +20000 forum...I will admit that I look there every now and then....well a little while back some fellow named Max from New Zealand had made a US-bashing post...and I made a Max-bashing post back (which was removed rather promptly)....so anyway...somebody posted my Max-bashing post on a Finnish web site...and I would like to know if anyone can translate the comment below for me:

They must be terrified of you.

FYI
An Ampro 3600 is a fine PJ very similar to a Barco 808 but now that I have brought the value way down I think Bob is going to sell it to me cheap. The only problem is that he realized his switch to digital was a mistake (again) and thats why he hangs onto it.

i have no opinion on the reliability of digital projectors
i have never owned one
but i will say this anything that cost 1,000$$$ or more
and is considered disposable in less than 5 years i have
no use for
if some one else has a use for the product i have no problem
with this in fact i would like to say thank you for paying
for all the RAD so that one fine day i may be able be able to buy
a little 5 pound digital that performs as well as or better than what i have right now
thank you:)

now about the reliability of crt projectors i have a opinion

my first projector

ADVENT 1000
i bought this projector for 200 dollars
no power cord no manual the guy told me it worked when his farther
put it in storage and showed me where the convergence controls
were and wished me well i got lucky it worked and 7 years later it still works
and does its job very well in my den/office
not bad for a projector over 30 years old

my next projector was a novabeam 100
i had to have it repaired after a few months
it cost over 400$$ to repair the projector cost 500$$
however it has been a good projector since and does
its job in my bedroom
this projector is almost 20 years old not bad

first data grade projector a sony 1272
never had a problem

nec-xg this projector was cursed:mad:
any thing that can go wrong with a crt went
wrong with this one
it was so bad i thought all nec projectors were the worst
crap ever made
after finding AVS i was soon shown how wrong headed i was :)

barco 808 i owned it 3 years and put 7,000 hours on it
i never had one problem with it:)

sony 1292 i never had a problem with this projector
accept for coke a cola being poured into it
i replaced it with 3 brand new 1292 projectors
for 9,000$$ no problems yet

RUNCO DTV 1200/BARCO CINE 9
i have not bought this one yet
but at what its going to cost i hope there will not be any problems:)

over all i have found crt projectors to be very reliable
and a good investment in entertainment

regarding PQ. of digital projectors
i have seen vast improvements
it used to only take a sony 1031 to humble
the best digital had to offer now you have to use
at least a sony 1272 on the da**mn things:D

regarding crt PQ

my signature says it all

Tell you what. As long as I don't have to help you get the hernias while getting it off the ceiling and I don't have to help tote it out to your car, then I think we might can talk some business here. But I caution you in advance that I'm not known for leaving much money on the table in these situations. Yes, there's not much doubt about me being cheap. But that's only on the outgo.

Every now and then I venture back in here to see how my FAVORITE projection technology is doing and look what you all have done ... I feel so violated , what with owning a flashlight and all :( .

--- Seriously though , what is the reason for all the digital bashing that goes on here in the CRT area ? Is digital really that threatening to most of you ? We all owe much to digital since it is the reason CRT's are so cheap now [ and it is the reason that I will be able to afford that NEC XG when I have the room to use it properly ;) ] .
