PS I don't think this is all the thread QQQ hoped for;)
Chip, there you go again confusing me. Was it 9" when it was hung, or did you have to pump it up to 9".:D The only reason I'm asking is because I only have an 8"er, but if I pump it up, it too big to hang.:p

Curt, if you recall, you're the one that was supposed to give BeeOtch a 9"er for her birthday. I guess that didn't work out, eh? :p

Try using an 8"er to do the job of a 9"er. It either fills the phosphor or it doesn't. In this case, it's ok to go "over the edges"....if you can.:D

Just because its Christmas in't going to change a thing! Unless its 2010!
CRTs are still better and cheaper, So unless you have $30,000 to spend on a Sony Qualia (or whatever its called) please don't even hold your breath on finding something digital that would objectively outperform a well tuned $1000 used NEC PG or XG.

By the way even after trying 30 times in the hope that I may get a different result from the COOL TEST , i'm still a dickhead :D

Beeyotch turned into a golddigger, so she got the boot.

No suitable replacement yet, although I have no time to date right now anyways.

Thus the requests for Pete's pix, they will get me through long cold winter nights..:)

If you want to score higher, Dotun, you need to dump those import projectors and get you one made in the good old US of A like me and Chip.

Do we still actually "make" anything in this country?? I though that was a job for the far east!

On a more serious note, Bob, I dont know much about the Ampros but I got turned off by the required wired remote. Maybe I should talk to Curt about an 8 inch ampro for the new year!

Well, let me point out that whether you rent or buy, they're ALL THE SAME.....Golddiggers! :D However, in the long run, it's probably cheaper to buy than rent.:D

Thanks for asking, Chip. My back's now about like it was before the fall (and I wasn't going to be doing any mountain climbing or coal mining even then :)) Thanks goodness for Genie Lifts. World's greatest invention.

You have to look around a little to find it, Dotun, but there are infrared receivers and transmitters available for the AmPros.
I was just kidding though. There's surely nothing wrong with Japanese projector engineering (or about anything else they make for that matter). I guess if you just stay away from CRT projectors made in China the rest are okay. :)

The Sultan of Cheap has declared that CRT's are superior, after having attempted to switch to digital. If the Sultan says CRT's are the best, that's good enough for me.:D

QQQ, you can save yourself some typing since nobody is interested. Go back to the digital forum where "ignorance is bliss.":p :D :p

Poor stefuel. It must be difficult to not have anyone ever follow your advice. Hell, you have such lack of self-control that you can't even follow your own advice:

PS I don't think this is all the thread QQQ hoped for;)
Ah, contraire my friend, it is EVERYTHING I hoped for. Thanks especially to YOU! You NEVER disappoint me. I believe that if you were out in the forest and I set a booby trap for you with some fish bait, and hung a huge poster over the fish that said "booby trapped bait", you would gleefully run up and grab the fish bait while warning others not to touch it as the giant log dropped on top of you. Then, after a trip to the hospital, like the coyote in roadrunner, you would repeat the experience all over again.
