Koos is on page 8. Heat follows a few posts down that page (and from the tone of Heat's two posts I venture to say there's probably not yet been a reconciliation).

I will explain this in my review but the answer is that we were commisioned to design a theater for a client that wants the best and was willing to cover the costs of this type of shootout to learn about what is truly possible. Christmas was for some friends, the shootout is still set up for further evaluation with the client.

I think we often have preconceived notions on this subject and are more interested in defending a particular point of view then being open to the idea that our perceptions might be colored. To my knowledge a "real" shootout with exacting criteria had never been done and this was an opportunity to attempt to determine the truth re: a number of areas.

You may be pleased to know that the CRT system under consideration consists of a 12' wide 2:35 constant height screen using 4 Barco Cine 9 PJ's!, 2 stacked for each half of the picture with a blend in the middle.

The question is why are you on the CRT forum with this?
See above. But I do plan to cross post in the digital forum.

I might have to take back my post about Art, and I think he likes being tickled under the chin!

this certainly falls under the "believe it when I see it" category. Art will surely be crushed to learn that his HT has been upstaged by a factor of 2.
Q can you at least tell what kind of FPD technology can fill that much canvas?

QQQ,
Sounds very nice. The only thing that has crushed me is that I wasn't invited despite my large dick..... what does it take to get consideration these days?

I don't think any of this will matter unless you use premium cable matched to the display type..... of my choosing.

I guess this set up would vindicate me in my comment that QQQ would come loaded for bear at least.

Art, you aren't invited, me either - because QQQ must remain an enigma and anonymous on AVS Forum. This was required before "Star Trek" gave him permission to use the "Q" moniker.

I'm wondering when QQQ is going to stack digital projectors, would't there be a benefit on a super duper large screen size???

I'm sure you are all SO DISAPPOINTED. Now that Runco's been an official sponsor of the AVS CES Party the past few years, there's no chance of anymore independents, like Doug Baisey a few years ago, coming in and blowing out our socks with his big screen presentation.

So QQQ will not be exhibiting anything at the AVS CES Party this year. Sorry folks.

The Panasonic D7700U supports stacking internally. At 1400x1050 each with 4000:1 on/off CR, high ANSI CR (I'm speculating based on the technology and what I saw at CEDIA), and tons of lumens (up to 7000 depending on dual bulbs used) I think a stack of these things with a dark screen to improve ANSI CR when the room is included could make a pretty incredible setup. Or in an RPTV setup.

Go ahead. Make your jokes. But one of these days me and Chip are gonna stack our Ampros and then we'll see who's laughing.

psst, Chip. How many of them 10 hour neck boards you got on hand?
We'll need about a dozen by my calculations. And maybe two or three of them
10 hour Spellmans too. We don't wanna look ridiculous when the damn things go dark in the middle of the shootout and no parts on hand.

Bob-o,
We be honkin baby, Curt just sent me a years supply of neck boards and power supplies. Enough to light up half of Florida. We could take My two 9"ers, your two 8"ers and perhaps a couple of 2000's just for hoots, find someone to loan us a huge sailboat to shoot them all on to the sail, grab a couple of cases of beer and have a block party.

Boy it would be really nice if what's his name would back up his claims with a picture or two. Surely if he's all that he can be, he would at least have a digital camera and know how to use it. A picture would be worth way more than he could ever type. Art took a million pictures of the progress of his theater and shared them with us. How far out of his way would it be to supply us with just two? Cmmon Q, put up or shut up. Like the guy say's on the infomercial (Girls gone crazy), "If you don't show us your stack, I'll get fired".

Chip

Current owner of the last/best AmPro on the planet. The mighty 4600HD, and it's still running...better than Barco's, especially southern ones.

It was a very cozy affair. Just Koos, Q, and myself. We had invited a few other folks, but they all canceled! Rats, I was looking forward to meeting John Arbuckle, but he said he had a date with two Hooters chicks. He said the Mensa club members found us overqualified. Man, even his Amway group found us kind of pushy.

Anyway, we did have some musical entertainment. We argued quite a bit over this. Q insisted on Wang Chung. Koos and I wanted Van Halen. Q insisted that VH was never the same since the original singer left -- Sammy Hagar. We tried to explain that: a - Sammy was back, and: b - Dave was the original singer... he just wouldn't listen. Anyway, he got in a tizzy and played de la soul. It was Ok, until Q put "Me, Myself, and I" on repeat.. for six hours!. I cried myself to sleep.

I'm not Koos either!

Wow
I can't wait to see what kind of fun QQQ ster has in store. Since we all know (nudge nudge wink wink) that the shootout doesn't really exist if pics actually do come I'm sure QQQ has been digging up the old file photos and dusting off photoshop.
Its gonna be a comedy classic.

Looks like you've raised expectations to a fever pitch here, Q. I would have never believed it but it looks like even Heat's gone speechless now.
I don't wanna put any pressure on you at a time like this, but remember Geraldo and Al Capone's vault? This better be pretty good.
