We have set up a fairly disciplined criteria for the evaluation. People will be polled on a number of comparisons and will also not know whether they are watching a CRT or digital projector (though of course the image itself may give it away). We've done everything to make it as scientific as possible.

It's not going to happen on this forum. We're not going to get sucked into this no win for either side debate again. CRT'ers, for the good of the forum DO NOT POST HERE. Just let it slide into oblivion.

You could just stop reading the thread if it upsets you this much. The thread title is right there and you don't have to click on it. That would be much better than making ridiculous claims like last time.

PS: I have no idea if it is real or not, but if it is I think it could be interesting (not that it would be definitive or anything though).

Darin,

QQQ is just a professional troublemaker. As you know, NOTHING new has appeared to change anything that has already been tested and tested.

Let us know WHEN YOU believe a new digital model has come out that might change anything already known.

I'll be going to CES and I'll give you a thumbs up or thumbs down as to whether I think there is anything new to put up a good fight. I'll also be making sure I get to the DTS demo with the Chris Stephens setup this year. Last year they were out of tickets for the DTS thing by the time I tried to go.

BTW: I know QQQ is a troublemaker, but he throws in some good info too, IMO.

We love you Q!

At least I do. Peace and goodwill to CRTers and digitalers alike.

(Not so sure about plasma owners)..;)

Mellow out dudes, it's Christmas Eve.

Who's "WE" , if Mike Parker, Doug Baisey,Tim Martin or someone of that caliber isn't invlolved then you have already lost us. I am certain you have every FPD guru already lined up for the bulb machine so I wont' even go there.

There's no need for another shootout.

Digitals rule, the future is here and there's no looking back.

If anyone needs help disposing of your obsolete CRT projector drop me a line and I'll see what I can do. Bigger, heavy-er (9 incher) units will be a priority as getting rid of these can be costly, But I'm sure I can help.

Just so everyone knows QQQ has asked me to be one of the participants in his research. I was chosen( he told me at least) for my extremely unbiased nature and my golden eye status on the forum. So stay tuned !

P.S. My IQ being over 200, and having the largest dick on the forum has also been confirmed to have meant nothing in my being selected for this research.

ok Art, I'm glad to see yuor involved but If memory serves me you had a Sony tech. set-up your gear. I'm concerned that someone highly qualified should be invloved to coax the max performance out of the CRT.

Art, I thought you were only fairly certain that there was close to three inches of snow on the front yard but ran out of ruler.

Damn that snow is cold. Ya and it's deep too.

The only problem with these shootouts is that for a week or so after, my G70 CRT and my Sony HS10 LCD are in a foul mood, and refuse to speak to each other, or anyone else in the house.

I guess I will have to keep them both busy over christmas by watching movies constantly so they do not find out the result of the shootout. :)

Well, I'm glad to see everyone is following your advice ;). Haven't you learned by mow that the only way a thread slips into oblivion is if people don't have to keep posting telling others to ignore it?

As far as this being a "no-win for both sides", it's not about "sides or winning". It's about learning - sorry if that's a bad thing for you.

No, I didn't know that. It seems that quite a few people learned things in the Guy Kuo and DarinP shootouts. And last time I looked, new things are happening all the time.
