I bought a used 2004 Nissan Titan truck. I would like to swap out the factory head unit. I haven't been shopping for 4+ years. The last Alpine I bought was like $400!!! I go to mess around at Best Buy and notice they are down in the $100-200 range! Holy cow. I figured I better get one with an HD tuner already installed. Come to find out, each brand that I like only has one model with the HD tuner installed (Sony, Alpine, Kedwood). I find it stupid to buy a model that is HD capable and spend an extra 200 bucks on the HD tuner, when I could buy one head unit for under $200 bucks. I was told the 2011 models will have more built in tuners. I like the front USB ports and will use that. I am NOT an ipod user, so that is useless to me.

I figured I would post on here and see what people think or recommend. I could wait till Christmas time and buy one if newer models are on their way.

What should I do?

Dave

Get it now. No reason to wait unless there are rumors involving some bell or whistle that is coming out that you are interested in. As I am not a listener of HD Radio, I can't comment on that feature. 200 bucks will get you a pretty decent head unit if you don't want nav or dvd functionality.

The Alpine CDA-105 is HD ready and has an MSRP of $250. It says it has USB as well, but dont see where in the pic on the website. I can also be setup with "IMPRINT", the Alpine mic for TA and such. If you're into that sorta thing.
