What are the big differences? I can't find anything but they are $300 different?
This is all I can see...
9960 has 3 skins, 7160 has 1
9960 can do usb mpeg 1, 2, 4, 7160 only 1, 2
9960 can doH264(?) and wmv video, 7160 can't
9960 is 5.1 dolby digital, 7160 is 2.0
9960 perout audio volts is 5.0 and 7160 is 2.0
9960 usb video decorder is mpeg1,2 and divx 7160 is none

Just get the cheaper one then. I'm pretty sure you can't watch video while driving anyway. On my DNX-6960 you can only watch DVDs while the car is in park. And mine has 3 skins so I"m not sure why the 7160 only has one.

There are ways around that. You should check with your insurance company first and see if they have a problem with you bypassing the interlock however.

It should also be noted that the lock out only includes the in-dash monitor. It does not include extra monitors that you have connected to it. This of course allows for passengers in the back to watch while the car is in drive.
