I've had a KDC-X695 receiver in my car since September. This unit has a detachable faceplate. Every night, I take the faceplate off the unit and take it inside with me.

About a month ago, the unit started acting up a bit...a couple times, I would put the faceplate on in the morning, and it wouldn't turn on. The only way to get it to work thus far is to perform reset by pushing the little pinhead-sized button behind the faceplate. This of course wipes out my presets, audio settings, etc.

At first I thought it might be because I was either putting the faceplate on after I started the car, or removing the faceplate before I shut the car off. But since the first couple instances, I've only been removing/replacing the faceplate with the car turned off. And it still will not power on from time to time, forcing me to do the reset procedure. It's frustrating having to reset everything every week or so.

Does anybody have any idea what may be going on? Any help is appreciated.
