I have an FM Transmitter that plugs into the cigarette lighter in the front dash. I use my Android phone to play the music through the transmitter, but whenever my phone is charging in the car (I have tried both the front and rear cigarette lighter), I get a loud hum in the background. It stops as soon as I unplug the phone. I assume that the power going to the phone is causing the issue, but is there any way to stop this from happening?

Thanks,
K13

It sounds like you have a ground loop.

You may want to try a ground loops Isolator

http://www.amazon.com/PAC-Ground-Isolator-3-5-Applications/dp/B001EAQTRI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342442327&sr=8-1&keywords=ground+loop+isolator

These do an OK job of knocking out the hum.
