Hello, i recently just got 2 sony xplode 1300 watt subwoofers in a case.

my friend was telling me i need atleast a 2000 watt amp.

i found this one on ebay, just wanted to make sure it would work with it.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BOSS-PH4-600-2400-WATT-4-CHANNEL-AMP-CAR-STEREO-SPEAKER-SUBWOOFER-SUB-AMPLIFIER-/150961234247?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item2325fda147

i would be getting them installed at bestbuy.

if that isnt compatible, if possible could you direct me to another, preferably under 150!

thanks a ton !

Your friend is wrong..2000 watts is way too much for those drivers.

What version of xplode subs did you buy? SVC 4? DVC 4?

If you have 2 SVC 4's then you want to buy a mono amp that puts out 800watts into 1 channel at 2ohms.

If you have the DVC4 version then you have a choice....look for a mono amp that is 1ohm stable and the same 800watts, or one that puts out 800wats at 4ohm...these two options will cot you more than $150.

The first option, if you have the right drivers will be the cheaper of the 3,

Now all that being said....those speakers will probably melt if you actually tried to feed them 800 clean watts eek.gif

So dont be afraid of an amp that offers 500-600 watts.

But first up...what voice coil configuration do you have?

I have the sony 1300 watt 12 inch xplode subs, powered by a sony 1200 watt xplode amp. I've had these for almost 10 years.. Plenty of power, sound great, and never blown or overheated. If I were you I would look for the sony 1200 watt xplode amp that matches... They used to sell 2 subs, amp, and box at best buy for like 250 bucks. Not going to win a contest, but still decent.

EDIT: sorry, didn't realize this was from LAST march.
